My Writing Journey

I began writing poetry in 2000, my Sophomore year of high school, and was inspired by the Country Music artists of that time, but it wasn’t until October of 2001 when I wrote my first real poem “Stay Around” and by the time I graduated high school in 2003 I have written around forty-five poems and had a following amongst the staff and classmates.

In between 2003-2012 I kept writing, began sharing my poems online, found inspiration amongst new friends and gone through personal Hell of losing loved ones.

After my mom passed away from cancer in 2011, I published a collection of my poems when I was 27 called “The First Quarter”-A Songwriters Dream and was bought by the Country Music Hall of Fame bookstore.

I know have three poetry books published and working on three more.
